(Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
Not bad but I was expecting a light brick in Werewolf because for some reason the stone in the tree is so lit up on the box cover :D It'd be amazing price if there were a light brick.
Other sets are still expensive. Not a fan of the theme except the exclusive house set.

I second that, and I do not believe Lego have made a set at the $25 range with a light brick yet.JJpach wrote:Not bad but I was expecting a light brick in Werewolf because for some reason the stone in the tree is so lit up on the box cover :D It'd be amazing price if there were a light brick.

Rescue Robot (5764) has a light brick... it is a retired set, but it looks like Indigo still has it for $20.dulait wrote:I second that, and I do not believe Lego have made a set at the $25 range with a light brick yet.JJpach wrote:Not bad but I was expecting a light brick in Werewolf because for some reason the stone in the tree is so lit up on the box cover :D It'd be amazing price if there were a light brick.

Nice find, it's a cool little set with some great parts.herodotus wrote:Rescue Robot (5764) has a light brick... it is a retired set, but it looks like Indigo still has it for $20.dulait wrote:I second that, and I do not believe Lego have made a set at the $25 range with a light brick yet.JJpach wrote:Not bad but I was expecting a light brick in Werewolf because for some reason the stone in the tree is so lit up on the box cover :D It'd be amazing price if there were a light brick.

LEGO, it's not just a toy, it's an addiction... ;)

Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
Just picked up two Sith Fury Class Interceptors for $50.00 from Wally's. INSANE deal.. Also bought two Mines of Moria for $50.00. Good deal, not as good as the Fury class though! Went to a different walmart to get more Interceptors and they are still going for $119.99! YMMV is right!
Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
Rescue robot was definitely a great set, a good variety of bricks plus a light brick justify the price. Wish I had a second set of it, I modified it to be a fire robot (duh)for the city and it always stands out. Love it.

Thanks, I totally forgot about that set.herodotus wrote:Rescue Robot (5764) has a light brick... it is a retired set, but it looks like Indigo still has it for $20.dulait wrote:I second that, and I do not believe Lego have made a set at the $25 range with a light brick yet.JJpach wrote:Not bad but I was expecting a light brick in Werewolf because for some reason the stone in the tree is so lit up on the box cover :D It'd be amazing price if there were a light brick.

Nice find, but are you collecting for the kids or doing it for investment? Either way, please try and save some for others.Jasper Parnebrick wrote:Just picked up two Sith Fury Class Interceptors for $50.00 from Wally's. INSANE deal.. 50/50... my son loves SW and so do I... Good point though. My pockets aren't deep enough to buy too many of anything that's too expensive, but I agree that being fair and not hording when there is an abundance of a good deal is also good for Karma. I've been collecting for about a year now, and I don't have any more than 4 of any one set.
Incidentally, I went back to the same WM today (on Dundas, near Dixie) and found 4 of the #75012 Barc Speeder w/sidecars for $15.00 in the clearance area. The label below said Hobbit, so I figured that clearly these had been placed there accidentally. Sure enough, staying true to the 'ymmv' adage, they actually scanned in at half price! I haven't even seen these in stores yet and already they are clearing them out? I have seen a lot of the other new 2013 SW sets out and about for the past month or so, but never this set.
The North Queen store seems very reluctant to put lego on sale, this is the third time now that I have found sets at 50% off or more on Dixie, and they were still going for full RRP at North Queen! Does anybody know of any other stores in the GTA that regularly have good clearance prices and/or stock large amounts of Lego?

The set 75012 reminded me so much of these 2 sets, in quality and price.Jasper Parnebrick wrote:Jasper Parnebrick wrote:Just picked up two Sith Fury Class Interceptors for $50.00 from Wally's. 7868: Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter because of it being over priced.

7957: Sith Nightspeeder is better in value since there are 3 jedi\siths.

At $15-20 this set should be, but at $30, Lego is really pushing it. Will see them at that price range for sure in the near future at other Walmarts but not anywhere else since this set is exclusive.
For stores more likely to have clearances, well it varies from time to time, I recall there were good clearance at one store in Hamilton, then another one in Scarbrough, but lately they have not put much on big discount as they used to.

Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
I stopped in to the Westmount (Edmonton) location to have a look at their clearance stuff and I asked the sales clerk to check on The Werewolf (which wouldn't come up in their system). Long story short she called another store, they wouldn't answer in toys and the toy manager for the store I was in was on break. Then I asked about clearance items and if they were a nationwide thing because I had seen some sets (I was looking for Weathertop sets specifically) that another Walmart in Toronto had for a good price. I showed her the price ($35) but they didn't end up having that set in stock. They also had Mines of Moria for $25 and I asked if they would price match. The manager in toys must have been annoyed with the calls he kept getting because over the phone he authorized the price match!! Another employee came up to the desk while I was getting the price match done as said a lady had come in a couple days earlier trying to price match but they denied her because it was a price error or something, so he was surprised I was getting the match done. Then I thought I would check the Albany location for a Weathertop (trying to get 5 sets total so I have the 9 Nazgul), I showed an employee the web ad which had Mines of Moria and Weathertop. She asked which set I wanted, I asked if I could get both and she said sure!! So $85 for $275 of Lego before taxes in the end, I still can't believe I was able to get the match done as like others have said they are not supposed to price match other stores. You guys can try like I did, (punch in Toronto when you search on their site) but I'm guessing my case was a major fluke.
Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
Yes sir, that you are lucky since the price difference usually sets off the alarm. Price error is an excuse for them to not price match, in fact they should have simply just said they cannot price match other walmart since they are not competing with themselves.scotts wrote:I stopped in to the Westmount (Edmonton) location to have a look at their clearance stuff and I asked the sales clerk to check on The Werewolf (which wouldn't come up in their system). It wasn't easy to get price match between Walmarts. I recently experienced price match denial even though I presented them with a receipt that showed the sale price from another Walmart. They insisted the store only matched the price from fryers.
Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
I call that bull**** as long as it meets their price match requirement, flyer is not required. But price match between walmart always comes down to the managers. From experience, if the price matching does not happen frequently at a specific location and the difference is not huge, then some of the manager will allow it. But if it happens alot then we can thank those that screw it up for everyone else in that specific area.legohunter wrote:It wasn't easy to get price match between Walmarts. Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
Either someone cleared them or this Walmart location is an odd one as they don't seem to have ANY of the Super Heroes sets. Seems to be a common thing for clearance sets that are listed as "in-stock" online to be completely missing in-stores this season. I'm talking about the one at Cedarbrae Mall (Markham Rd/Lawrence). Online, they had multiple Lego items on clearance, including the 2 new Spiderman sets, and also the new Batman & Bane Tumbler set; but when I went to the physical store, not a single Super Heroes set (including ones I'm not even looking for) are not even on the shelf. This is the only Walmart not to have a single Super Heroes set period.
If anyone got multiple of the 3 sets I listed on clearance in the GTA, PM me.

Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
Well as mentioned on here before, there are factors when it comes to seeing it online but not finding them in store. 1)Online stock do not update by the hour. 2)The items are instore but misplaced. 3)A returned item that is damaged but scanned in as a return. 4)Rarely happen, but someone purposely marked them down so they can take advantage. 5)...etc. About not seeing any superhero sets, that can happen, maybe people in the area really love the theme, therefore they are sold out. For example, the last Ninjago wave was completely sold out at a couple of Walmart and waiting for restock.Toronadian wrote:Either someone cleared them or this Walmart location is an odd one as they don't seem to have ANY of the Super Heroes sets. The Cederbrae location is strange. Brand new store, small selection. I think I've seen a number of 2013 Chima and City sets, a couple of SW and Ninja Turtles, but really a lack of SH. The way the aisle was designed made me feel uncomfortable and leave in 5 minutes.

Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
I found out that the location in Mississauga on Dundas East has similar clearance discounts, but it seems they're completely out of those 3 sets also (and Super Heroes sets in general). Some CSR told me those sets had been on discount/clearance since Wednesday and had been cleared out really quickly :( . Not sure if they were just saying that so that they didn't have to help me try and find them, but anyways there were none.
And yeah, the Cedarbrae location's setup is a bit odd, but I can't say I'm surprised considering they're borrowing heavily from the previous Zellers setup. Seems like I was way too late to the party if they ever had any.
Oh well, I mean I wasn't REALLY wanting those sets anyways, I mean they're nice but at full price not worth it. Only suddenly became really interested after the huge discount.
When I went to school still in Toronto, use to have more time to run around to various Walmarts but now that I go to school outta town, that ain't happening plus too busy.

I feel like the online stock thing use to be more accurate, even including previous sets that were on clearance but this past winter/months it's been out of whack or something.dulait wrote:Well as mentioned on here before, there are factors when it comes to seeing it online but not finding them in store. Re: (Canada) - Walmart Clearance YMMV
I have seen staff brought most of this clearances, not just lego in bulk before, and there are no policy stating that they can not do so as long as they do it when they are not working. So the stock level cannot be trusted unless you work there or know someone who work there that will put them aside for you. Also in the past couple of days\weeks, it seems there are more openned then tapped up returns have been showing up on a couple of Walmart shelves. Content is unknown, so I urge those that see them to report them to the service desk.Toronadian wrote:I found out that the location in Mississauga on Dundas East has similar clearance discounts, but it seems they're completely out of those 3 sets also (and Super Heroes sets in general).
