MA & NH residents, DEAL ALERT!
Stopped by the Methuen Walmart to check on some sets that I had been stalking in clearance but unfortunately were gone. Lo and behold, as we walk in we are greeted by a shelf with a sign for additional 50 % off. On the shelf were two Falcons for $70. In the clearance aisle there's about 7 Jabba's Palace (rang up $47), a few Hobbit Goblin King sets, a Quinjet, MF werewolves. Hurry up.
Re: MA & NH residents, DEAL ALERT!
Very interesting. This deal may reach beyond the Northeast. I've been using the WM app to do some price scanning for items that are listed as "in-stock" at specific WMs in Florida. Prices vary from store to store, but I found one store with the Falcon scanning at $79 where other stores listed it at $139, Helm's Deep at $57 (!!!), Catcycle at $9, MF Scientist at $35. I had my "people" (*cough*, parents, *cough*) check the store, but none of the sets were on the shelves, but were listed as "In Stock" on the WM website. Either their site is not up-to-date (it's happened to me before) or someone came in earlier this weekend and had a major score.
Either way, it seems like their are some new clearance-like deals out there, if you can find them.

Re: MA & NH residents, DEAL ALERT!
Hey,
Thanks for the heads up, headed to the Methuen store around 3pm EST
I came back with 3 Jabbas ($47), 2 Goblin Kings ($49), Monster Werewolf ($10), Monster Ghost Train ($27)
There was 1 Falcon left, but it was taped up and beat up, likely a return. I would of bought it but didn't want to deal with missing pieces. After picking up my stuff, there were about 3-4 jabbas, 2 GB king, 1 werewolf, an opened Ghost train, Gandolf returns ($5), 1 Quinjet, which I would of bought, but I had all those figures already and 2-3 small city sets for about $10-15 after the 50% discounts.
I was surprise to find this big of a stash left, since the bigger sets are usually the first to go

Re: MA & NH residents, DEAL ALERT!
My Walmart in Western MA has the falcon for full price. These are always YMMV.
Re: MA & NH residents, DEAL ALERT!
My local WM had those prices last fall on most of those sets before they stopped carrying them. This should be moved to the YMMV section.

Re: MA & NH residents, DEAL ALERT!
The only set Walmart may have had at that price last Fall
was the Falcon. Definitely not the others. This was not a YMMV post as I was very specific about what was left at this particular store.
The point was to alert regional folks, not claim a nationwide sale. We all know how Walmart clearance works.

I would think that the S&D forum guideline "*The deals in this forum are either national or available online to everyone living in the United States. " would mean this post goes in YMMV.intromission wrote:The only set Walmart may have had at that price last Fall

Ok then, my bad for not seeing that.
Re: MA & NH residents, DEAL ALERT!
I appreciate the alert. I am just disappointed I didn't see it soon enough to grab a Jabba and Goblin King.

Yeah, I was worried about someone sweeping in and buying everything at once (I am very much anti-this approach) but such is the way of things. I figured it was worth sharing just in case a bunch of different people would be able to benefit from the find. I was pissed that someone had already beaten me to the batcave and helm's deep. ;)

It was very nice of you leaving some sets for other shoppers. However, the deal was too good for resellers.
