Target Canada

Post by Jasper Parnebrick » Thu Mar 21, 2013 9:15 pm

I am hoping that this will be a long and deal-filled thread for years to come. Has anybody seen any deals yet? I know they are only a week old, and the stores are overflowing with people so they have no reason to entice us with deals... yet.

From other's experience down south, do the B&M Target stores usually ever have any good deals? I love that they carry exclusives that we couldn't get before (even though Zellers was 'supposed' to carry them).

There's a store 5 minutes from my house, so I will post any great deals or finds that I see.

This only qualifies as a warm deal - picked up The Hobbit Blu Ray/DVD/Ultraviolet combo pack with the exclusive Bilbo minifig for $24.00 at the Burlington Target.

FYI, be prepared to show show photo ID if you want to purchase this or any movie at Target. Yes, the movie is rated "PG" and I'm not likely to be mistake for being under 18 or even under 30, but the cashier insisted on seeing my photo id and recording my DOB in the computer. Utterly ridiculous. According to Target, this is their corporate policy.

I had to go through the same process at a Target in the US for a console game. The system wouldn't read my Canadian driver license so a store manager had to punch in some codes into the POS to by-pass and enable the sale.

Does anyone know if Target Canada is carrying the Orc Forge? This is supposed to be exclusive to them.

As hihghtrek says, yes. I also noticed Anakin's Jedi Interceptor #9494 too, another Target exclusive. Its odd too see it on the shelves of a big store like that. I'm so used to seeing the SAME sets at TrU and Walmart. The Orc Forge and The Interceptor stuck out like sore thumbs! I think I remember seeing one more exclusive, but it was like 3 weeks ago.

I believe the other set is:
Umbaran MHC™ (Mobile Heavy Cannon)

Yes, you're right Dulait... I did see that one there too. Great set, I picked it up at TLS last week.

You can see which stores are open now and where new stores will be opening later in the year on their website:

http://www.target.ca/en/locations" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?

I don't see any specific dates for openings, just a general time frame like Spring or Fall.

The St. Albert location is opening first week of May and I can't see the Edmonton locations being behind at all. So I would say all locations in the Edmonton area will be open the first week of May.

YMMV. I saw some sets for sale at the Danforth Target for 20% off. Duration was "limited time" but not specified. I have no idea if this deal is offered at other locations.
From memory, sale sets included:
* Geonoshian Canon
* AT-RT
* Droid Escape Pod
* Arctic Batman vs Mr Freeze
* Spider-Man vs Venom
* A few city sets, a Chima and a Ninjago set as well.

I picked up a Spidey. Plenty of everything left except the Batman set -- there were about 5 of those..
