I did a blog post recently comparing similar bricks from the two systems. I also did two posts, here and here, about building a MOC using bricks from both systems.

With Kre-O being found all over the place at clearance, I can't see you getting pieces any cheaper via their replacement parts service ;-)

True. But it would allow me to cherry pick the parts I want as opposed to buying the whole box.
