I discovered the hard way that Target won't match their own online promotions in store. I drove 20 miles to the nearest store to get a helms deep and after arguing with the sales clerk and calling customer service leaving empty handed.

Sadly true. They will price match, but will not match promotions.

Although its stupid as all get-out, pretend when you're browsing Target.com that it's a completely different company, because for just about every policy (with the exception of the most recent price match one) it might as well be.

the one exception is in-store returns of internet orders. My closest store has always been hassle free about this, and I've occasionally found 30% off deals on returns, which is a nice surprise.
