Isn't it irritating

Post by NIGELTTF » Fri May 17, 2013 7:43 am

I know I have a good deal of Lego. Probably 100000 peices, even though I have no idea really. But outside of 1X1s...I am running out of black bricks, small yellow plates and slopes, and tan tile.

Black roof slopes?, Got a shoe box full. Yellow, red, or blue bricks? 3 to 5 full buckets each. Wheels? Got hundreds. Castle walls and turret tops? 3/4 of a bucket. White Macaroni bricks? 3/4 of a gallon in a ziplock. Trees and bushes? Another bucket full. Horses? another 3/4 of a bucket.

Black 1X2 brick....I'm going to need to break open sets soon as I have under a dozen available. Black 2X4...I have 5 left. And none of my MOCs uses black as a predominent color. What the heck?

I am the opposite. It is roof slopes that I don't have a lot of.

Have you tried Pick A Brick or BrickLink?

As to Bricklink, I do use it to get specialy peices that I want. After all, the premium price is sometime just worth it. Don't know about plain old bricks.

But pick a brick---hrrrmmmm....didn't think of that.

But really this was more about the concept that while I have a substantial collection, sure probably less a lot of people here, but a good one. But then to be running low on what should be common items seems irritating. Is black harder/more expensive to produce than yellow/blue/red?

I ran out of Lt. Bley 1x4 plates the other day. Not something you'd figure on using a lot.

That's the general curse of MOC making. You have 46 of a part...you think "I'll never need 46 of this darn thing" you might use one or two over five years. Then you come up with a MOC....which needs 60 of them.

Not a problem, if you don't mind mixing colors. :-D
