how many sets per case

I was wondering if any has information or knows where I could find information on how many of each lego sets there are per case. For example, I've seen that the Goblin King set ships to stores with three sets per case. I am guessing that larger sets might ship with two sets per case and smaller set might ship with as many as ten per case (like say the MF Swamp Creature. But this is speculation on my part. I would like to be able to find a case breakdown for at least some of the licensed sets (Star Wars, Hobbit, Superheroes (both Marvel and DC), and a few others.
Can anyone help me out?

I recently purchased multiple Riddles for the Ring 79000 and they come in 6 per case.

First off, why does it matter?

It completely varies on set. Sometimes it's 1 or two and other times it's 8.

My assumption is that the original poster wants to order a "case" worth of one set and keep them sealed for resale at a later date. If it's sealed in the original shipping box, the sets are most likely worth the most for resale. But I'm just making an assumption on that one.

that's essentially what I am interested in. If I order from Walmart on-line, and am able to order the exact case amount, they will (are) protected by the outer box, and come in better shape. I have ordered the Goblin King set, and there were 3 in the case, so I ordered the right amount. When I ordered the Sith Infiltrator, I assumed 3 per case. Well, there were 4 per case, so they weren't shipped in the case, and one of them was pretty roughed up.
