Galaxy Squad 50% off at Target Canada

Apparently all Galaxy Squad sets are now clearance priced at 50% off at Target Canada.
Not my line of LEGO but others may like, Galactic Titan (1K pieces) for $65+taxes isn't too bad.
Add in 5% Target Card and savings to be had.

The reduction was what they had before because stock did not moved at that price point, so they marked it down futher.

A few things, my opinion on this theme is, for investors, this is not a theme you would likely see any gain in a short term. So, planning on a quick flip for profit? I wish all the luck in the world to them, they will need it. For collectors, we will see 70708 Hive Crawler will be left in stock at most places, since some kids tend to be scare of bugs and parents will stay clear on getting it. Then we will see further reduction if stock level are still high. Also for collectors on just the minfigures, by getting 70702 Warp Stinger, 70704 Vermin Vaporizer, 70709 Galactic Titan and 70705 Bug Obliterator will get you pretty much all the minifigures in the theme. Except for one from 70703 Star Slicer which is a lego store, toys r us exclusive.

Never really liked the bug theme, looked ... meh ... and also a repeat of an old bug theme (exact name escapes me) where there was lime green translucent wings/domes ... which I also passed on.
Seems recycling a lot of themes this time around, the Castles, Star Wars, but I guess if you wait long enough, things come back around.

Mars Mission, but I think it is the Insectoids theme you are talking about, since Mars Missions is more like Alien Conquest. Yes it is hard for them to come up with original ideas as time goes by. Yet they are trying, just look at Ninjago and Chima, but as you have said, they will come back if we wait long enough. So we might see Power Rang(er)jago, and Energyma in the future.

Yep it was the Insectoids. Someone on RFD is nice enough to post on kijiji sets of these for pickup at his cost if you missed out. Search for lego galaxy squad and you will see his ad. Nice guy !

Was in a Target in Toronto today, the one just off Don Mills south of the Science Center. They only had 2 Galaxy squad sets left, and they didn't scan at 50% off. They were on clearance though. However, they also had about 12 or so City Advent Calendars on clearance for 19.99. Which is a good price, but I already have some for my family. Its odd that they would have them on clearance when its not even December yet. Anyway, if you are looking for them, they have em.

Too many uneducated hoarders think they can make a couple of bucks off these, yet do not realized there are always reason why some sets go on sale for half off. For example, they think they have hit another Minecraft, when all they hit was another USC B-wing. Almost feel sorry for them, good thing is that they have more time on returnning them after christmas.

No worries. They won't lose much by getting those set at half price. Some hoarders were even as crazy as purchasing all CMF 11 from my local Wal-mart at MSRP.

Anyway, sooner or later, they will find out what they should hoard.

Not a fan of this theme but 50% off and gift card is tempting. Bought a few, need white bricks anyway. The bigger sets are kinda cool, not the small insectoid sets though.
Id say its a pretty neat deal despite whats discussed.

Ya I wasn't too keen on them either but I grabbed the Galactic Titan cause it looked pretty cool, a couple of the space swarmers to send to the Philippines, and they had one Warp Stinger Left for only $15.99!!! That with the $15 Target Giftcard made it well worth it for me.

anyone know if any Vancouver area Targets have this deal going on? I don't live too close to a Target so don't want to go for a drive without having some idea if it's worth while.
