guys,
Recently got my horizon express from TRU but notice there was some marker written on the side of the set...
Does anyone other from TRU online has this issue? I keep the box and I keep all my boxes in pristine condition.
I can always order another set and return my marked one since my TRU only few blocks away

^ Yes - they do this, usually when you order more than one item. Try a damp towel to get it off. Its some sort of coal pen that they are using. Usually very easy to remove.

I ordered 3 red cargo trains from toysrus.ca earlier this year and they marked 2 of them in black but luckily they did come off using a damp cloth

Or you might be able to switch them out at your local ToysRus if they have the item in stick - I fully agree - they should not mark them with anything... but its ToysRus...

Last night opened an order to find these idiots put no packing in the giant box my Creator family house set and a couple of Star wars sets came in. Let's see, they're too cheap to provide a few cents of packing to cushion the sets from sliding and rolling all over a giant box, yet they use a giant box in the first place costing themselves more than necessary. Stupid company all around, they'll be the next to die after Sears. That or get completely taken over by soccer mom baby stuff.

I think you were just unlucky that some lazy employee packed your order. All my orders from TRUs have had packing material included. Have you complained to Customer Service? Maybe you can get them to sent you a free poly bag. ;-)

Really? all my order so far from TRU never comes with packing material! NEVER! I don't know if the warehouse so close to my location but most of my sets always comes in small dent at corners
I'm going to purchase another identical horizon express and return the one I have for now. I'm crossing my fingers that this time it doesn't have any pen mark on the box as its very annoying. If they do it again I'm going to call customer service to see what they can do about it.

Mine never come with packaging either - one of the only company that don't.

it sucks because for all of the corners of the heavier item it will be damaged when transporting. I mean TRU is not a small company and its very strange why they use a larger outer box to let the item loose inside to save money!

TRU used to put packaging material in the box, I guess they needed to save some money and packing materials was one of the corners they had to cut.

Maybe their CEO can surrender one hour of her $3.2 million compensation package a year to provide everyone in Canada with a bit of paper stuffing for their valuable merchandise.

Otherwise they're gonna cut themselves right into irrelevance, just like Canada Post is about to do.

I don't think you will find a LEGO exclusive at a TRU store unless someone returns their online order. Last year I saw a beat down Tower Bridge at MSRP, so I passed.

I'm about 50/50 on packaging when my TRU orders come in. Sometimes I'll get several sets, with padding, in an appropriately sized box. Other times I'll get one set in a box made for sets three times as big, that looks like it got dragged through a pit of wild dogs, and reeking of cigarettes (that's more of a Canada Post thing, really). My last order was seven sets that were shipped from the same warehouse, on different days, in five boxes. One set was sold out and never replaced (and is now gone from the online shop).

Oh well, savings are savings.

Agree with Brandon on that. But I have seen sets like a couple of Hunted House and Arkham Asylum Breakout at a local Toys R Us before.
