Target Rancor Pit

Post by Bmceachern » Tue Feb 18, 2014 5:45 am

I randomly scanned the Rancor Pit set at Target yesterday and it came up $52, works out to almost 30% off. Just thought I'd let everyone know, I finally grabbed one to add to Jabba's Palace.

Does anyone know how long does it usually take for Target to do a further discount? I've asked their staff before, but no one seems to know. Wasn't sure if anyone here had any insights.

In the U.S. they do mark downs on Thursday. I'm not sure if it's the same for Canada or not, though.

Target at Metrotown (Burnaby, BC) had a bunch in the clearance section. They also had Headhunter for $41.99.

I think the seasonal products get marks down on Tuesday. Perhaps it is the same with other items.

It is $50 at Walmart now, so either grab it there or wait for this to drop to 50% at Target.

I just saw it was $50 in store at Walmart too, but price seems to vary by store. Manager's choice maybe? I'm not sure about this set. I don't have the Jabba Place unfortunately so I'm on the fence as to the value (as it's only 380 pieces). The Rancor is pretty interesting however.

Yes, the set by itself, the sell point is the Rancor, so when it hits below $40, then it would be a good price point to pick it up. Also when it drop below $40, I will be getting 2, since it takes roughly two to mod it with the Palace.

You may not need 2 boxes of it if you have several extra pieces and bricks. I expanded it without getting second box.

Yesterday Waterloo Ontario Target had Rancor Pit on sale too (can't remember the discount)
and both it and Kitchener Target had these others for 50% off:

Geonosian Cannon for $12.44
Sith Fury-class Interceptor for $59.99
Headhunter for $29.99
and Chima Wakz Pack Tracker for $19.99

Managed to find the above mentioned by Drajan, plus an A Wing for $15. Shelves are rather empty however. Seems to vary by store, with some stores not having anything on clearance ... even the sets noted above. Didn't actually buy the Sith Fury-class Interceptor or the Rancor Pit however. I love Lego, but mainly purchase it for my kids and I have a small stockpile already that should last the next 4 years of holidays! :-)

That said, if I end up in another Target and see these again, I might just give in ... my will is only so strong ...

I checked the Targets in Toronto at Yonge & 16th and Yonge & Steeles today. Was disappointed, no deals found.
