And I absolutely believe that many people think they're getting a steal because it's on the clearance shelf.

I have worked at TRU and many other retail stores and I think you are over thinking it.

People just don't think.

I stopped by my local Walmart on a whim last night. I ended up going home with 70704 Vermin Vaporizer for $35.00!

My mother made a great find for my son. She found 1x Galaxy Squad: 70705 Bug Obliterator at a local Wal-mart for $15 because it was opened! Its a great build. My son really loved building it and its now one of his favorite sets.

Tell your mom if she finds a 70709 for that kind of deal and not damaged, I'll gladly take it off her hands. I have one already but it's damaged. But that's a killer deal on 05. Open or not.

Awesome price! I missed out on a couple good deals for that set during the winter holidays, and continually kick myself for it

Went to a garage sale today with my son. The family had mega bloks, so my son asked if they had any legos. She said she had some sets in the basement, but her son takes out all the figures. We said we'd still be interested. She brought up the Chima Lion tank with the first 2 bags missing but bags 3&4 still unopened. My son bought that for 2.00. The next one she pulled out was the monster fighters castle. Her price.....$12.00. Needless to say we bought that and to our surprise when we got home bags 2-7 unopened and all of bag 1 was there in the box. So we got a complete castle for 12.00

Great idea to inquire about Legos at garage sales if none are shown. As when I've had one, getting all that cash is fun and you keep thinking what else can I sell in the house.

At my local Walmart the person in charge of the toy section was replaced by some one else, who apparently knows the meaning of clearance. These sets previously had full price clearance stickers.
79104-The Shellraiser Street Chase__$25
75018-JEK-14's Stealth Starfighter___$25
70008-Gorzan's Gorilla Striker______$10
70400-Forest Ambush_____________$5
9678-Twin-Pod Cloud Car & Bespin__$3

Meijer's had Batman: Riddler Chase 76012 marked down to $26 plus I had a "summer bucks" coupon for $5 off an item of $20 or more. I was able to purchase it for about $21 :-D Sorry that I'm just now posting. I've been out of town.

I bought the LEGO Movie recently at Walmart for $18.96 for DVD & blu-ray. And with that I bought the Melting Room to go with it.

Then the next day, I went to the LEGO store and bought a big PaB cup with a LEGO Movie BrickJournal Magazine. (I LOVE BrickJournal!!!)

Then two days ago, I bought another big PaB cup.

Happy times!

Lego Star Wars - Battle of Hoth is currently on sale at Toys R Us here in Philadelphia (gallery) for $27.48 before tax. Lady told me it's at other locations too. I normally see this set for $50+ at other retailers.

I would LOVE a Battle of Hoth, but none of the TRUs in my area have them...

30% off here because my target usually doesn't go directly to 50% off

otherwise, millennium falcon and republic gunship would have been long gone.

Yes, I would.
Think about the value per piece or maybe trade in power, down the road

Yeah I wasn't going to buy it but I love the blue color so I went and looked at a video review and it's awesome, so underrated and the mini figures are really nice too.

Oddly enough mine came with a deformed 1/4 round piece that is used for the "shoulder" above the arms. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't fit, but LEGO sent me a new one that does.

Interesting, I had one of the exact same piece that wouldn't quite fit. I tried to figure out where it was wrong and took a 2x2 brick and was able to attach it to every single spot, yet it wouldn't fit with the piece that it needed to.
