LEGO 42009 : Mobile Crane MK II at Costco.ca

Costco.ca has the Mobile Crane MK II (42009) back on stock at 189,99$. Shipping in included, you just need to apply taxes depending on your province.

Why is the price so much cheaper than MSRP? Even cheaper than buying it from America!

TRU has it regularly at 20% off, which brings it down to 200$. But Costco seems to be able to get better prices from LEGO directly by, probably, buying tons of it. They only have a few sets on sale. I heard somewhere that Costco doesn't make more than 17% profit on the items it sells. I wonder if it's true...

In any case, this set is a great set, the biggest (at least in the piece count) to date in the Technic line. At this price, the $/piece ratio is great for such a set. Not to mention it includes the power functions.

The Technic Grand Prix is also available for 119.99, 30 bucks cheaper than Shop@Home.

UnicornIRL : at TRU, all technic sets often get a 20% rebate, so the Grand Prix gets there at 120$ as well.

Oh yeah, they get thrown into the mix often. TRU has rotating 20% off sales, which is good because hey, savings are savings, but they rarely have huge deals. It's not available on the TRU website at the moment, though, so for those looking to nab one they might as well get it along with the crane.

During Christmas time last year, they also had the Mobile Crane for 190$, but it lasted a little bit longer than this! They also had the Unimog U400 (8110) at the same price. It was a nice opportunity to price match it at TRU.

The Unimog U400 (8110) has been gone for months. The stores I go to usually carry 1-3 Mobile Crane, but never more than that. As for the Grand Prix, I've quite rarely seen it.

Every time I hear Unimog I go :facepalm: for not picking it up at $!90 from Costo back during Xmas (or was it early Jan?)
