Bionicle.
I won a ticket to the event, I still don't know if I'm going because it's so last minute with the details and it's not cheap getting there. But they just emailed me this...
Hello.
You are receiving this email as you have received an invitation to
attend LEGO's Invite Only BIONICLE panel at New York Comic Con on
Thursday, October 9th 2014.
In addition to the BIONICLE Panel at New York Comic Con you have also
been selected to attend an invite only after-hours event at the new
LEGO Store Flatiron District from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. At the event you'll
have a chance to meet members of the BIONICLE team, build with the new
elements & see the models up close!
*In order to get into the event you must RSVP to the email address
below by 12 noon October 9th with your full name to ensure you are
added to the guest list. Those who do not RSVP will not be allowed into the event.
I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 to get there and then crash on some bench on the street for the night just for Bionicle.

Do you think they might hand out some exclusives that might be worthwile either for your own collection or resale?

They sometimes do, but I think that is more rare at the NYC one. The only year I remember them doing that is with TMNT.
I hope they do, would make the expensive trip worth it.
I was hoping for some Jurassic Park exclusive mini figure.

There was a TMNT give-away in 2012 at the Rockefeller Center Store event, and in 2011 they gave out the Green Lantern and Batman figures that were also available at SDCC that year as well as a Superman figure that was only available at NYCC '11. Nothing that I recall from last year, unfortunately.

I didn't get a mask! But I didn't get to the booth until 2:30 and they probably ran out. It's INSANE in the main room.
However the LEGO people are fantastic, so much fun. The sets look amazing, they have personality the originals lacked (This is a reboot theme.) and the new six shooter is the best shooter LEGO has done.

I got one at the after party show along with free 2015 Bionicle sets! The designer safe awesome, if you ever get a chance to meet with them (of any theme I would guess) do so, they are so much! They really put a lot into these sets so they would be special, it's amazing. I'll have pictures of my limited Bionicle building tech girl I made.

Going into it I really wanted the show to be about Jurassic Park / World because the old Bionicle sets didn't have personalities and they are action figures and should. These have personality. There would be 5-6 characters but they all feel the same just different colors. These feel like different people. I love it.
Here is a great review of one of the others from the VIP party who built a 2015 set with help from the (once again) amazing LEGO team. Friendliest, amazingly nice people you will ever meet!
