Brickcon 2014 Seattle, WA

Post by zmw92 » Tue Oct 07, 2014 11:24 pm

I was looking for a Brickcon thread to see all the amazing models I had witnessed, but could not find one. So I took the liberty to do what little I can & make a Fickr album with all my favorite pics from Brickcon I took. Some of my favorites were the Arkham Asylum on an Island, "A Killing Joke" where Batman turns Redhood into Joker, Lego Mudkip, and clearly a Lego stoner dude having some "fun" on top of a building. Anywho, Im rambling so heres a link. Enjoy!

I went Saturday. I particularly liked the Laketown display and a couple of the pirate island scenes.

On the other hand a couple of the displays seemed rather sloppily assembled - Sparta and the big monastery both had gaping cracks showing between sections of rockwork

I went as well with some friends and my son. A few of the highlights that pop out in my memory:

Orca whale made out of Duplo, impressive plus a real commitment to picking up Duplo pieces
A skyscraper with 3 sides curved in, I could have looked at this one longer
Castle with an onslaught of "Aliens" attacking
Another castle/town with a lot of houses built in and winding pathways
Life size R2

I snapped a lot of pictures to I can look back again. I will usually put them on a slideshow when the family is down in the lego room building.

Yes there were some rather sloppily put together. The life size R2-D2 was crazy! I forgot about the few displays that were completely motorized. In any scenario Brickcon inspired me

I was quite impressed with R2-D2 and the black power droid wandering around the floor.

The power droid is in the second R2-D2 picture. (Bottom left of frame)
