How as the lime bed in "The Lego Ideas Book" made?

Post by Oberst Hajj » Mon Feb 23, 2015 5:03 pm

I've been trying to figure this out all day. How are the headboard and foot board attached to the rest of the bed??

If you have the book, on page 49 they show a slightly different photo that shows the area where the bed meets the headboard. I can see something that looks like a half plate, but can't figure out what it is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think for the foot board the bottom of the bed is 1 brick high and they used a 1x4 brick with studs on the side, then put a 1x6 plate on it with the curved pieces attached up. In the second picture you can see the 1x6 plate.

I'm still thinking about the headboard.

I'm pretty sure I have this book at home, but I don't recall this bed. I usually look for furniture ideas. Must be time to look through the book again.

Thanks for the help byroads! You are correct, it does (or can) use a 1x4 with studs on one side. It is turned sideways. These sideways bricks are ran all the way to the headboard which attaches to them normally (not SNOT need at that end). You have to use at least two of the 1x4 bricks with studs on one side, but the rest can be regular bricks.

Not sure why I was trying to make that harder then it needed to be!!
