Sounds like a Zeller store near me. In 2011 I found a couple 2005-2006 Technic sets in the back of the shelf behind current sets. It was a smaller store with less traffic. Too bad it got converted to a Walmart.

I miss the little toy store in Fallston, Zacherys toy Company. There primary business was bulk sales for dirt carnivals, but had the store. Was there once in 1998 or so and they didn't take credit cards and I only had three bucks on me. I boggled at there Matchbox car case because there was one model from 1969 mint in original package, $1.25 just like the rest. I bought two but when I went back they weren't there anymore.
They had load of toys from the early 80s just on the shelves.
