Bricks and Pieces order problem dragon parts 70403

Post by StClair » Thu May 07, 2015 6:49 pm

A forum member recently suggested that another member buy a "husky" dog part from Arctic Base Camp 60036 by ordering the dog directly from LEGO shop at home Bricks & Pieces (not Pick a Brick). I had NO idea that one could purchase parts like this. I was only familiar with Pick A Brick. Thank you to that forum member. I've now spent more money than I should have but I have lots of wonderful parts that I would have purchased entire sets to acquire the parts.

I placed my 2nd order this morning. I received an email order confirmation after work this evening. The total was $510.56! The order total should have been $156.46. I had not closed my checkout tab from this morning (you know.. the page that pops up after finalizing an order). I double checked thinking maybe I had made a mistake. I had agreed to pay $156.46 and not $510.56. This confirmed that I had not made a mistake with my order. I checked my account history at LEGO shop at home. After clicking the order under account history I noticed that one particular item number appeared several times with various quantities. The item cost $22.75 each (see screen shot of item outlined in red). I called customer service and we were able to fix the problem.

I had discovered various parts for the dragon from Dragon Mountain 70403 (legs, body) for only .06 each. Thinking these may be fun parts to build with for such a cheap price I purchased 1-3 of each. This was the problem. The representative that I spoke with told me that these parts are not available individually and that the system had automatically ordered the "whole" dragon (bag with the parts). He was able to remove these from my order. Luckily the order had not been shipped yet and he was able to fix the problem and remove the dragons. I wasn't able to get the dragon parts but at least I had caught the order problem before the payment had been finalized. The customer service representative was wonderful (both courteous and knowledgeable).

I guess what I'm trying to say is always check you email order confirmations for accuracy as soon as possible. Be wary of deals that seem too good to be true. Even though the parts are listed in Bricks and Pieces for .06 each. I'm glad that I noticed the total difference and called customer service quickly.
