Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal-Mart
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
I got a Grandpa and Revolutionary Soldier, but I felt some bags there's no Medusa, Mr. Gold and Sea Captain.

Medusa is painfully obvious to feel for. She's always in the bag that looks like it's about to burst. You can't feel and not touch SOME part of the tail piece.
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
Medusa and Captain are extremely popular, and with Medusa only have 2 per 60 Box and 2-4 per 120... her being so easy to easily spot.... hard to find her.JeagerEX wrote:I got a Grandpa and Revolutionary Soldier, but I felt some bags there's no Medusa, Mr. Gold and Sea Captain.
Be careful of the Capt... I used to mix him up with the Bee Girl's wings at first.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
So... question. Normally if I was scanning for a specific fig in the past, I would be able to sift through a Target end cap in 30min to an hour...
With series 10, I've been more methodical to ensure I don't accidentally pass up a Mr. Gold thinking he's a Tomahawk Warrior or Painter... I feel for 2 parts, unless i catch a super-unique part in the first few touches. This absolutely kills my speed searching... anyone else running into this?
Oh, and even though I'm being so thorough... I still have that "What if I mis-took Mr. Gold for a different figure in my mind-numbing ever-continuing bag molestation." *shudder* *twitch*

Another Floridian here!Luciant wrote: With series 10, I've been more methodical to ensure I don't accidentally pass up a Mr. Gold thinking he's a Tomahawk Warrior or Painter... I'm all the way south in Florida, though.
I used to do that, and not to brag, but I've gotten so good at feeling that I only need to feel one unique piece. It takes me around 15-25 seconds per bag now, and just about 30 minutes a box at Target.

You guys need to have kids. It's free labor! My 7 year old son, thankfully, loves to go through the packs, and he doesn't even care about keeping them, he just thinks its great fun. And to my recent astonishment, he is as fast and accurate as me! And he doesn't have to maul the foil! Win x3!
I would think the top hat would be an easy giveaway for Monsieur Or. Think back to the days of way too many Mr. Good & Evils. The Decorator's bucket is close, but one pinch will tell you whether there is a bill or not.

Found one medusa in entire target display. Put it back. Is this one rare too?
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
Normally, Medusa is allocated 2 per box, but my target display had 5, so I think one of their boxes happened to have 3.zztoy wrote:Found one medusa in entire target display. Put it back. Is this one rare too?

I felt through a virgin case of Series 10 at my target, and ended up with 3 Sea Captains and 8 Medusas, so these numbers of 2-3 a case everyone is throwing out there should be taken with a grain of salt.
That said, they are IN GENERAL the more hard to find figs, so I've amassed 9 of each.

I felt through 9 sealed cases and it was 2-3 Medusa's each time.

Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
I felt 90% of a case opened in front of me and found 4 Medusa's and at least 3 Sea Captains.
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
Not sure I would want to feel a medusa.
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
i've been through 2 different new store displays and the ones i have found the least are the trendsetter, sea captain, and librarian (in that order)... could just be completely random but there have been at least 6-7 medusa packs in both...

You guys are confusing two different types of cases. The standard case that most stores get, including TRU, includes 60 figures. You can view the case assortment near the bottom of the Eurobricks review: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p ... opic=80676" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; There are six different figures packed only two per case (IMHO, some of the best figures of this wave).
Target gets a completely different type of case that holds somewhere around 120 figures. The assortment in these cases is completely different, although most of the rare figures are still rare in the Target case.
It is possible that later shipments might have a different case assortment, but the only series where I distinctly remember that happening was Series 3.

Every single LEGO minifig series I've rifled through has been displayed in the vertical case version, which holds 4 or 5 packets per bay and has 15 bays, so probably around 60 count. I've seen them at Target, Walmart, and even K-mart.meyerc13 wrote:You guys are confusing two different types of cases. The standard case that most stores get, including TRU, includes 60 figures. TRU seems to only do the small standard box, which I haven't seen in other stores near me since series 5 or 6.
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
With series 10, I've found the 60 count boxes at TRU, and the 120 count vertical endcap displays at Target and Kmart. The 120 count displays have 15 bays of 8 packs each.
Another note, I've seen the 60 counts come out of a taped, sealed Lego factory cardboard box with black/purple design. Anytime I've seen the 120 counts brought out, the larger Lego black/purple box has never been taped that I can see, whether these displays are shipped open or the employees went through them in the back I have no clue.

Target Mountain View, Calif and Walmart across the street each have the 120 piece vertical display box in the Lego Isles. No Mr. Golds at either location. No Medusa's at Target but still a couple at Wally's. Both displays pretty full as of Monday the 13th.
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
The standard case is the 60 figure case. The vertical displays are unique to the big box stores (K-Mart, Target, Wal Mart). They hold 120 figures, not 60. Everyone else, including LEGO stores, Toys R Us, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, local mom and pop retailers, grocery stores, Shopko stores, Fleet Farm stores... I could go on and on, everyone else gets the standard 60 figure cases. Since the 120 figure cases are difficult for the average joe to get his hands on, the case distribution for those isn't as well known as the 60 figure case (which are readily available for those with $180 to spend on a case).LowestFormOfWit wrote: Every single LEGO minifig series I've rifled through has been displayed in the vertical case version, which holds 4 or 5 packets per bay and has 15 bays, so probably around 60 count. There is also a 30 figure case, which is why the 60 figure case distribution is now dividable by two, but I haven't seen one yet. It's also why the distribution now sucks, with six mechanics and six skydivers in a case but only two librarians, grandpas, sea captains, trendsetters, and Medusas.
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
Found 2 hanging boxes of Series 10 at my local Wal-Mart in Avenue J Lancaster, CA. I felt three bags that contains Bumblebee Girl, Decorator and Sea Captain, but when I'm trying to purchase them at the cashier they don't accept checks
I'll try it tomorrow.
Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal
A Target a little distant from me (in Sunrise, FL) had a few felt packets, and I still pulled myself a Mr. Gold. Woohoo!
