Just remember this is Amazon's pricing, it isn't necessarily the offical price for the set. I would be really surprised if LEGO made $10 battle packs one year, then suddenly jumped to $15 the next year without significantly increasing the piece count.

Either amazon is having above retail cost or lego just marked up their msrp. But $50 for that tiny tie defender is so not worth it for 300 pieces.

The freeco speeder looks great. I'll definately pick up a few of those and that new Thi Sen figure is just awesome :D ! Droid tri fighter looks similar to the epi 3 one but with improvements. Tie defender is a disappointment :( once again especially theres no new figures and only comes with common figures. Arc starfighter looks cool and a much better improvement than epi 3. Great way to pick up kit fisto if you miss it. But i like the new clone pilots with the new helments. Also is that a new astromech droid? or just a regular R2-D2?

The freeco speeder is a nice set but looks like we'll have to fork out $25 for those small-medium sets from now on.

These sets are just looking better and better. The battle packs looks awesome with all those figures.

Actually, all the lego star wars sets are overpriced in comparision to other lego themes and even MORE overprice compare to Megabloks and other toys. But specificly you can say the tie defender and the battle packs.

Keep in mind those are only US pricing. Think about the prices if your from Canada. Its even more expensive even though the currency is equal.

I agree. SW is really pricier than other sets such as City and Castle, in terms of brick quantity.
But then again, SW is really unique in it's own characteristics.

It seems that Indiana Jones does comes close to the (steeper) price of star wars in terms of brick quantity.
Just my 2 cents :)

Did anyone noticed the rocket battle droid commander in the tri fighter droid set? It has yellow markings on it.

Thats probably one of the unique features of the set. But its weird how they don't have any buzz droids in that set which it had in the previous version.

I think I may try making the tie defender out of my existing parts. Doesn't look that complicated. Arc-170 looks very similar to the existing set from a few years back. I wonder if they added any new play features besides the moving winds and dropping bombs.

There are now new pictures for the 8087 Tie Defender on Brickshelf.

In addition, Kiwomens on Youtube has posted a video review on the playability of this set as well.

The tie defender seems boring now except the new cool tie fighter pilot.

By the way, i saw this new set 8091 Republic Swarm Speeder on the web

Kind of unexpected how these limited edition sets suddenly appear and how lego keeps them so discreetly. The swamp speeder looks so awesome. I gotta have it but sadly, TLG will definatly overprice this.

Hey looks like we finally get back some epi iii clones with a new torso. Set looks kind of small and was expecting $20 not $40. These sets are getting pricier each year :( .

I like the look of the new Swamp Speeder and it will be nice to get a Barriss Offee minifig. Too bad its probably going to be extremely overpriced.

Talk about this in the uk. They're even more overpriced than you guys.
