What don't you like about it? I've never actually seen any of the previous iterations of the MF (other than a few pics online), so I have no idea how this new version stacks up to the previous MF's.ncbarrett wrote:NVM.
I saw MF on display at TRU, and think it looks stupid.
i would advise you to look at before buying it.
New to SW, what to get?

It is more of a playset than ship.unclephn wrote:What don't you like about it? I've never actually seen any of the previous iterations of the MF (other than a few pics online), so I have no idea how this new version stacks up to the previous MF's.ncbarrett wrote:NVM.

the fact that you can see inside the ship with all the top pieces closed, turned me off.
They could have filled the gaps with something, and I'm sure I could have added something, but for the price they are asking they should have done it.
Not saying it isn't for everybody, just not for me.
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

Re: New to SW, what to get?
I see what you're saying. I didn't realize that there were gaps between those top flaps. That kinda sucks. But I do, however, like the idea of making it more of a playset. Playlets are great for kids, and creating a MF playset introduces kids to the original trilogy. Most kids these days have probably only been exposed to the Clone Wars series.ncbarrett wrote:It is more of a playset than ship.

I have no problem with it being a playset, just not what I wanted.unclephn wrote:...

I like the MF as a playset, but I didn't know it had gaps. :?

They are very careful not to reveal that in any pictures.Ice wrote:I like the MF as a playset, but I didn't know it had gaps. :?
Was very glad I saw it on display at TRU, the case it is in is well lit making it easy to see inside the closed ship.

Thank for for all the recs.
I got my daughter Luke's Landspeeder and she loves it. It was relatively easy for her to assemble and she is enjoying all the figs that come with it.
I'm saving the X-Wing for later (maybe Christmas). Any thoughts on some other "less expensive sets" that I should consider (say under $40)?

Listed in decreasing order of cost:
$40: Mace Windu's Starfighter, Battle for Geonosis
$25: Sith Nightspeeder, Ewok Attack, The Battle of Naboo
$12: The Four Battlepacks (I personally recommend either the Snowtrooper Battlepack or the Clone Trooper Battlepack)
