Barbie toys are 30% off today so I would guess LEGO would be 25% off on Friday. What is everyone planning to get?

Yep, Barbie is only 25% off. That's extremely good news as there is still a remote chance that LEGO might be 30% off now - if they follow the pattern...

Yup - but you can use the coupon on unlimited numbers of purchases - gotta love how they do that.

But even if you order several items they have a tendency to ship them out separate. A couple of weeks back I ordered five books for about $25 in one single order. They shipped them out in three (!) different orders in the same day.

Must be cheaper for them to do it like that rather than combine shipping (their logistics folk I suppose).

Do be careful of ordering the big sets from Chapters though. They charge you extra (even if there is free shipping) for some of the bigger stuff. I ordered Queen Anne's Revenge from them earlier this year when they had some sort of online coupon discount, I was still charged for the "larger than regular" shipping box required (or whatever they called it; can't remember the exact name).

I've made up my mind. If the sale is 30% off I will either purchase the Lighthouse Island set or the LEGO Truck. Both are at really good prices if you add in the $5 off coupon.

Lighthouse Island: $49.95 * 0.70 = $34.96 - $5 = $29.96 (40% off)
LEGO Truck: $44.95 * 0.70 = $31.46 - $5 = $26.46 (41% off)

This is not related to the sale for tommorow... but Chapters cancelled my Series 3 Minfigures order after I contacted them today asking them whats going on. It was instock when I ordered it back in September.

2 packs of Four Series 3 Minifigures $16.52 ($13.91 after coupon)
Star Wars Character Encyclopedia $15.15 ($12.76 after coupon)

My advice is to never combine instock items with pre-order items. Chapters probably sold my minifigures to someone else while I was waiting for my Encyclopedia (pre-order back then).

My guess is that an item worth $100 up is excluded to the free shipping promo..
the biggest item I ordered from Chapters is the POTC Whitecap Bay.
I think it is not the size/dimension of the item but the worth/price
maybe for expensive ones they have some sort of required insurance contract with postal company.

I went to my local Chapter store and asked if I could redeem my plum points and buy a gift card (hoping I could use it for tomorrow's Lego sale.). Apparently, plum points are useless.. can't earn them online can't use it online.

Their shipping info stated if the item is over $100 OR being heavy, then you won't be able to get free shipping, shipping will be $11 something, as I remember last time when I want to order something, which kills the deal.
BTW don't we get plum points on purchases when you sign into your account?
