I also got my shipping notice finally for MMV. Phew.
Odd thing though, is that they shipped it via Canada Post while my other two orders from that same day (Winter Village sets, and Emerald Night) were shipped via Purolator (which apparently requires some sort of address correction...). With a possible strike for Canada Post...oh boy...I also have a couple sets coming from B&N, can't remember what they use.

Re: [CAN] ToysRUs LEGO Sale: May 27-June 2
what is that 'address correction required'?
i also got those on the tracking page.
i called purolator twice, the first one got cut.
operator one says it was delivered today but noone is at home.
operator two says the delivery guy was told noone lives here with my name.
and they asked me if i just wanted to picked it up
where their pick-up locations is 3 towns away.
the strike will be at the end of the week.
i also got 2 sets from BN.com

I called them and for me personally I found out that it was because I live in an apartment, a buzzer code was needed. They don't leave those slips or whatever if you live in an apartment. I've got them to resend it to another business where I can get it picked up tomorrow possibly (if not, Wednesday).r1chard wrote:what is that 'address correction required'?

I can't edit my above post but I just wanna say...so the previous orders done on the same day as MMV they ship via Purolator, but with the strike looming closer and closer, they choose to send MMV by Canada Post? Right. I gotta question their decision making on that one.
Re: [CAN] ToysRUs LEGO Sale: May 27-June 2
which store are you picking it up (staples/hardware)? so i could also ask them to do the same, instead of picking up from their far away office.Toronadian wrote:I called them and for me personally I found out that it was because I live in an apartment, a buzzer code was needed. Oh, sorry what I meant as in another business was my father's work place. It's easier than sending it to my home where no one is usually home during delivery.r1chard wrote:which store are you picking it up (staples/hardware)? so i could also ask them to do the same, instead of picking up from their far away office.Toronadian wrote:I called them and for me personally I found out that it was because I live in an apartment, a buzzer code was needed. Re: [CAN] ToysRUs LEGO Sale: May 27-June 2
thanks. i asked them to just deliver it again on the same address.
i finally got my MMV today. it was boxed in a brown box,
and the original lego box/packaging is good, without any dents.
i heard/read before that TRU is not using brown boxes when shipping
so i'm kind of expecting the original packaging to be brutally dented. so it's all good TRU.
but then again compared with BN and Chapters which both uses air bubbles to keep the items
in placed while inside the brown box.
anyways, i'm happy now. finally got the set i wanted before it become extinct
though my guess is, you can still get it from lego stores (like sherway gardens) but with MSRP.

Got my Mill Village Raid & Lighthouse Island - instead of the usual box, they were shipped in a large plastic TRU "bag" or shipping envelope... boxes were a little dented...
As some of you mentioned, my past TRU orders have come in a box, this is not a good sign of things to come from TRU...

Re: [CAN] ToysRUs LEGO Sale: May 27-June 2
^too bad eh. but at least it is better compared to what others have previously experienced with TRU where there's no packaging of any sort at all. just the original lego box; dented, and stamped with sticker address labels.
what are you previous orders from TRU, are they big sets as big say, like MMV?
but for me, the box is part of the lego experience. though some people just throw it away with out giving it a second look. the box tells a lot of info about the set. sometimes i cut out the some parts, specially the part showing the number, which i then used when organizing the pieces for storage, helps me identify which pieces go to which set.
going back to the TRU shipping time, if it happens that I ordered last Thursday (530AM and then picked up and shipped by 400-430PM i think from mississauga), then it will be out for delivery the next morning by 8:00AM, and hopefully delivered before noon. so shipping could just be like 1 day. and this is via purolator, delivered in ontario.

Yeah, I've ordered large sets before... small & medium ones too. I'm certain that this is the first time a TRU shipment has some in anything other than a cardboard box... my Fire Brigade from a few weeks back came in a box.
Anyways, it isn't a huge deal to me, just seems like a crappy way to ship stuff and I know a lot of people want pristine boxes.

Who-Hoo! Got my MMV today. It came in a box (with the LEGO logo on the side) that was big enough for 4 of these bad boys, so I wonder if they just left mine in the original shipping box and slapped an new address label on it. The MMV box was undamaged. So happy! Can't wait to put it together!

Got my MMV and some other stuff yesterday. Yay. They came in cardboard boxes that contained the sets, but lacked bubblewrap. The sets' packaging were still in good condition though.
I know this might be pushing it as it's "official" release date is June 2011, but has anyone seen any TRU in the GTA with the new Creator Hillside House?

Let's check on Friday morning if the big Creator and Kingdoms sets will be available ie. after the (another) controversial sale.
Any news what's up this week for TRU?

We should all do screen captures of them being unavailable now during the sale...and make screen captures tomorrow throughout the day...and if enough of us have them...we can present a case with consumer rights...

They've actually taken down all of the sets that are out of stock from the website from Creator and Kingdoms at the moment. So stuff like Grand Emporium, Emerald Night, the Winter Village stuff, Shuttle Adventure, Maersk Train, MMV, and also the new Lighthouse Island are not listed.

Thanks! Everyone once in awhile their screw ups work in our favour. I've placed my order and we'll see what happens.

Same goes for the Shuttle Adventure set that they list under Creator. It's been re-listed with the 20% discount still intact. I placed my order like 4 hours ago (yeah, I was going to post it here but I was in a rush to leave the house) and as of 1:02pm EST it's STILL in stock. Medieval Market Village is also STILL in stock.
