I didn't get any either which is disappointing. I was hoping for one so I can get the clearance items during summer.

@Atmail It is nice to know a company that actually reads feedback from customers and tries to improve. I bet most companies don't have time to read comments and just throw them in the trash.
I really believe it helps to give them feedback on what you want and yes, it is a bonus if they do consider it! I encourage everyone to let them know that we want free shipping for VIPs!

Oh and by the way, I did NOT get the free shipping offer, but I will be happy if they offer it later for all!

Seconded. Everyone who got free shipping on orders over $50 (or less, even) please use it so the results of their marketing will show that to be a good threshold and they will then offer it on a regular basis ;-)

Frankly, I think I've only ordered from S@H once without free shipping, and it was my first order ever. Ever since, I've timed my purchases from S@H to coincide with a free shipping offer.

I got the $75 email, about 100 miles from the closest LEGO store. I'd have to think hard about what to spend $75 on, but at $50 I'd place a pick a brick order today.

They should just do the same as Amazon: after $25 the order ships free. I think that is what many, but not all, people are starting to expect from online retailers now. I may be wrong but I know I usually won't order anything online unless the shipping is either free or ships free after 25 smackers from Amazon. Even ebay is starting to push its sellers to offer free shipping.

I also hate paying shipping and the only time I do it at S@H is when it is for a sale/clearance item that I don't want to miss out on by taking the time/gas $ to drive to the store and order.

I agree, LEGO must realize that they need to compete with Amazon and even TRU, Target, Walmart, who offer free shipping

Considering that LEGO makes a lot more money selling the sets directly to the customer there's no reason that they can't offer free shipping all the time (on $25+ orders) and still make piles of money.

Lego being the manufacturer also can't undercut its resellers. If you were a mom and pop store selling lego at msrp and the the lego group slashed all the prices on its website or started to offer promos you couldn't compete with you would stop selling lego in your store. I think lego does a good job on its promos and I would love to see free shipping more often. They just have to be careful who's toes they step on while doing it.

Posted from my phone, please excuse the errors.

^ True enough, though offering free shipping or small 'free gift' incentives don't undercut other retailers. No one is suggesting they slash their prices, just that their online sales could compete with other large retailers if they offered free shipping more often/on a regular basis. Think about it, though - most retailers are undercutting TLG with regularly occurring sales/clearances. LEGO Stores/S@H is probably the only place I pay full retail for any LEGO products, and only then on things that aren't available elsewhere (like the MBA program subscription, PaB or BaM). Sometimes I'll buy something at full price content with the VIP points.

It does appear that LEGO seems to be testing the waters for some sort of free shipping program, with the main goal of determining at which price threshold to offer it at. This is obviously good news for everyone, especially for those that don't have a LEGO store which they can consider to be 'local'. Definitely a good move on their part, as it makes their product even that much more accessible.

At least I hope this is what they're doing!

I hope you are right and it's a pilot program for year round tiered free shipping!

I got the free shipping with $49.

Interestingly, I had $50 worth of sets in my cart, wonder if there is any correlation?
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!
