It's a relatively good way how they are managing their stock/inventory at Chapters. Rather than releasing all their stock at once they release items at intervals. That's the only way how I can explain myself why certain items such as Series 5, Harry Potter Forbidden Forest or The Burrow are OUT OF STOCK at certain points but then are back in stock half an hour later.

I do like this approach - that prevents one person emptying them out at any point. Now, if some other retailers (ehem... ToysRUs) would do this as well...

I just have one question.
If the product page says 'Usually ships in 1 - 2 weeks',
and the item could be checked out/bought online.
Is there a possibility that it the order could get cancelled?
and how probable is the cancellation?
and if in case I got an email saying 'Awaiting Shipment'
is this 100% guarantee that it will be shipped?

Please respond base on your experience from Chapters online.

Darn, I was up around 1:15am (in BC) and went back to bed after seeing that the sale wasn't on yet - even though the fine print said "sale effective 12am EST".
Sucks though since I had to wake up 7am in the morning. Finally have the time to check the site out just now.

Placed 3 orders of LEGO Series 5 Minifigures just to make sure I get a complete set. Price is not bad when it works out to $2.21 each ($2.47 after tax).
How can you be sure you'll get a complete set? Three orders of 4 minifigs = 12 figs. It's possible that you may get duplicates, and a complete set is 16 figs...
I placed 3 orders consisting of 3 four pack series 5 minifigures. Basically, I bought a total of 36 minifigures through 3 different orders in order to maximize the $5 off coupon. I brought 24 last time and I didn't even get a complete set. I'm certain this time it will be. :-D

Does anyone know how Chapters ships out their LEGO items? By the way Ice, I think you mean 'bought' instead of 'brought' ;-)

Thanks. I've only ordered books and minifigures from them but overall, they're pretty well packed. Speaking of that, I just ordered a City Advent Calendar! :-D

Been debating about that last night, but $24.96 is too hard to pass.

Nice. I ordered the LEGO City Truck for only $32.15 including tax.

It is too bad Chapters does not carry LEGO Exclusives. This would of have been a great deal. Is Chapters comparable to BN.com?

In terms of their contract with LEGO I would probably say that they are comparable with BN... they are both bookstores and carry the approximately same lines. However, Chapters does not carry the Architecture line but I don't know any Canadian retailers who do...?

Happened to me a few times with amazon before... they usually fix it when you call them.

I ordered three separate transactions to maximize the $5 coupon use. Like I said before, best single item deal was to get a $39.99 item so that it comes out 1 cent shy of $25 before taxes, which they will ship free anyways. First item came in this morning with a coupon inside for min $5 of $50 and $10 off $50 on your next two in-store purchases, respectively. Downside: only 10-15% off if you can spend exactly these amounts, not for online use, olnov11 is better as you don't have to spend $50 to get $5 off.

upside: you may be lucky to have a 1 in 10,000 chance to get the $2500 off! with $50 purchase.

That means the guy in Vancouver got a LEGO set. If it was a big and expensive set, what would you do? Keep it? Or return it?

The playmobil is the one with Christmas tree and cost $20.
I need to call them soon but the 1800 number is only available 9am M-F

Anyone who have the same experience? What did you do?

I guess that explains the quick delivery as the playmobil sale was I think the first one of the 5 day sale. Btw I also ordered a 16gb Playbook from chapters last friday and got an order number just now. I hope I will not get a VOX

I received my order today as well, which makes this the fastest order I've received from them. Took only one business day!

I ordered the 7641 City Corner, and it arrived in almost perfect condition (one tiny dent in one of the corners). I've ordered a couple of Lego sets from Chapters before, and they've all arrived in excellent condition, but what really impressed me this time around is that they actually took the time to create a large box out of some broken down cardboard so that the set fit nicely inside. They also made it large enough so that there was ample space to surround the set with those large air bags for protection during shipment. Chapters is top-notch, IMO!

I agree Chapters is the best in my experience. I ordered quiet a bit of LEGO from them and only had one bad experience when they put a Forbidden Forest into packaging that was meant for a book only. They replaced it expediently. Way better than ToysRUs in my opinion! Also, their deals are better!

In regards to the wrong item - I would suggest emailing them. Just respond to the email you received when the order was placed. They are very quick to respond. Usually they will let you ship it back or you can bring it back to a store.
