Congrats Lord. I'm not a big SW guy so I don't really care if you post this on multiple forums.

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
My Dad, who is 74, likes to go to stores for me and my kids to find deals. He was at Wal-Mart the other day and stumbled across a Queen Anne's Revenge that had been opened. He called me and I told him to scan it. It rang up for $20
I told him to go ahead and get it and I would pay him for it. He took it home and after some checking, realized that it was COMPLETE!!! It gets better. The next day he went back to the same Wal-Mart for some bread or something and went back to the Lego isle. There were 2 more QAR's in the spot he found the opened one. So he scanned them. Cha-ching. TWENTY BUCKS!!!!!!! Now my kids and I have a fleet of QAR's.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
I found what seems like a good deal to me on craigslist. I'm just starting out though, and can't really say for sure. can someone help me out? does this look like a good deal for $50?
It doesn't have many unique pieces, but I really do need the standard blocks. plus that baseplate under the bricks looks pretty big.

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
This is actually a deal that I have to pass on (well a deal for me..don't know about you all). The seller's kid is entering his dark age and wants 300$ for his collection. He told me he has all the figs and instructions but the pieces are unsorted in a number of bags. I added names to the sets he's listed. Seller is in Stormville, NY and I told the seller I'd post it around. Items of interest are Jabba's Sail Barge, 7734 Cargo plane, Peril in Peru, SP Max Sec Transport

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
Meijer has set several sets on clearance. Looks to be about 25% off. They honored my mPerks discount (various out there right now for general merchandise purchases), but apparently it shouldn't be stacking with Clearance.
Sets I saw and the prices I remember are listed below
Black Pearl - $74.99 (Only PotC in stock)
Superman vs Power Armour Lex - $14.99
Green Lantern (4528) - ?
Millennium Falcon - $104.99
Imperial V-Wing Starfighter - $14.99
SW Series 1 Planets - $7.49
Heavy Duty Helicopter (4439)
Triceratops Trapper (5885)
T-Rex Hunter (5886)

Just got back from Walmart and got the Lego City Car & Caravan 4435 and Lego City Dirt Bike Transporter 4433 for $13 each. Regular price is $20. That's 35% off.

Which Wal-mart is that?dajuice wrote:Just got back from Walmart and got the Lego City Car & Caravan 4435 and Lego City Dirt Bike Transporter 4433 for $13 each. Regular price is $20. That's 35% off.
Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
Scored a Geonosian Starfighter for $10, three Black Phantoms for $5 each, and a Podracer for $25 over the weekend, all at Wally's. It's pretty rare for me to get an honest to goodness 70%+ off, so those were a nice score. My best since the $25 Black Pearl, and with much less hassle and driving around.

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
I just picked up a bunch from a Craigslist Ad that I thought was a deal.
7260 Wookie Catamaran
7258 Wookie Attack
7263 Tie Fighter
7256 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid
Some mini-sets:
4492 Star Destroyer
6965 Tie Interceptor
4489 AT-AT
4490 Republic Gunship
The big sets appear to be be complete with instructions. I haven't found anything missing yet. They are from 2005 and the smaller ones from 2004 and 2003!
All for $120! He's a young guy who just bought a car.
He's still got several sets that appear to mostly complete. Here's the link to his updated ad: http://cedarrapids.craigslist.org/tag/3206247658.html I let my son pick the sets out he wanted. The Millenium Falcon appeared to be complete with mini-figs. The B-Wing is missing the stand. Slave 1 was missing a few ship pieces but had all the minifigures! Wish I had a little more available cash!
All in all though I thought we came out ok!

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
I can't compete with the all powerful lordharrier, but I did make a purchase off of craigslist for the first time, that I was quite pleased with. Part of an upcoming garage sale, listed only as a box of LEGO. Ended up being dozens of mostly smaller sets(especially Star Wars), all for $40.

Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
That's a great find, if you have the figs for the ultimate lightsaber battle that's worth 40$ right there. You know, I really love the hunt and getting those awesome hauls was really exciting but oh man.. the sorting and cleaning afterwards. I've been at it for weeks now and I've mostly got the pieces sorted, but for some reason both kids mix and matched or pulled apart their minifigs. So now I have around 450 separate minifig torsos, legs and heads.. I'm pulling my hair out...sydra wrote:I can't compete with the all powerful lordharrier, but I did make a purchase off of craigslist for the first time, that I was quite pleased with. Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
The sorting, I don't mind so much, but the cleaning isn't fun! I also have built up quite a few completely dismantled minifigures that I haven't felt like messing with. The thing I don't quite understand, is the removal of all the hands. I have so many hands at the bottom of a couple bags that need reattached. Why remove the hands?!lordharrier wrote:I really love the hunt and getting those awesome hauls was really exciting but oh man.. the sorting and cleaning afterwards.
