Marked "Sold Out" at LEGO S@H
Marked "Sold Out" at LEGO S@H
I figured this might be a good place to post items we've found marked as "Sold Out" on the LEGO Shop website, so we can all keep tabs on those items we might want to pick up swiftly elsewhere (as it indicates there won't be any more produced).
I was surprised that Galaxy Squad 70706 "Crater Creeper" (the second wave Green Team set) was sold out after the Holidays. I managed to grab one at the LEGO Store on Long Island yesterday. They had three of them, and two had banged up boxes.

I wish I grabbed a second cheap Colby City from Amazon. Wonderful set, the whole theme was great, too bad the movie bombed. I hope to find a cheap train at Walmart, the two smaller sets are fine, but nothing too special.

There is a chance that you will be able to find some of the LR sets at Tuesday Morning. I found a couple of sets on clearance. They only have the 2 sets so I bought both.

Well, The LEGO Movie Series Minfigs are now listed as "Sold Out". I know they've been selling like mad around where I live since the movie's release, but in my heart of hearts I find it a little hard to believe these won't be restocked, despite the tag. Anyone have any thoughts?

TTBOMK, no previous CMF series has come back once it went OOS. I doubt they are coming back, but my history on predicting such things hasn't been very good lately.
And, I've seen the same buying frenzy on them here on the East Coast. At my nearest Target where LEGO is very popular, a carton of 120 was cleaned out in 3 days. Previous series have had a few odds and ends that linger for weeks after the box is first set out. Not this round.
Another surprising data point: both "Emmet" and "Good Cop/Bad Cop" have been in the Amazon 'top 20' best sellers since the movie's release, even when selling at $9 a piece.

Okay, I had to look up "TTBOMK"!SpaceViking wrote:TTBOMK, no previous CMF series has come back once it went OOS.
If the Movie CMF are, in fact, on their way out, it does make me wonder a) how many were produced for sale compared to other CMFs, what with the tie-in and b) will there be another series of Movie CMFs? Do we know yet what series 13 looks like?

The next series is "The Simpson's"---the box art/color was revealed at the New York Toy Fair, but not the figs. I'm not sure what's next after that.melsig wrote: If the Movie CMF are, in fact, on their way out, it does make me wonder a) how many were produced for sale compared to other CMFs, what with the tie-in and b) will there be another series of Movie CMFs? Re: Marked "Sold Out" at LEGO S@H
I wouldn't be surprised if the Lego Movie CMFs were a smaller run. Several of the key characters in that series (Emmet, Wildstyle, Lord Business, the cop) can be found in similar form in the various Lego Movie sets.
That being said, I still need to get me a panda guy.

Ah, thanks. I'd heard about "The Simpsons" but wasn't sure if it was rumor or fact.SpaceViking wrote:

Sinfanti, I understand what you're saying, but given younger kids with limited allowances, the CMFs are perfect since they are relatively affordable. He doesn't have the money to buy the sets (of course, I'm gradually putting them away for gifts later in the year shh), but he can afford a CMF - plus, he's already received several as birthday party favors. All of the kids around here are excited about them, regardless of the sets - which I suppose is why they're disappearing so fast...
