Lego Shop free bonus exchange?

Post by dqfritzke » Tue Mar 04, 2014 2:05 pm

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to exchange their free bonus item at a lego store. I got the Movie piece of resistance bag from last month but really want the Manhunter instead. Think they will exchange it for me?

In general, the stores usually don't exchange promo gift. The Manhunter will be running out fast, and the store manager would prefer to reserve it for March shoppers so they won't get complaints.

Take the receipt in with the Movie polybag, do a returm and repurchase on the spot.

This will get the Manhunter running out even faster. ;-)

I thin kif you do a return, you get to keep the free gift. So just return and buyback your items, then you get to keep the old poly and get a new poly. I guess theoretically you can get free polys every month this way.

I would feel bad doing this, but I guess if you really want the free gifts you could do this...

Theoretically, the store does not expect shoppers to take this kind of actions. On the other hands, it happened that store did literally ask for the promo gift back when making a return.

LBR should generally ask you for the free poly when you return, if you don't have it they will deduct the value from your return, typically 4.99.

The receipt for my Parisian Restaurant purchase showed a $6.99 charge for Martian Manhunter, with a $6.99 credit for it being a freebie. I'd wager if you don't return the poly, then you don't get back $6.99.

$6.99 beats any of those idiot prices on online websites! But if too many of us start doing this, I will bet Lego will change their policy yet again to, "in order to return, you MIUST return EVERYTHING, else no return is allow.".

My order ended up not even having the free promo in it so I called customer service and they are sending me a manhunter so I will get it anyway!
