LEGO 30031 - World Racers Powerboat @ Target Checkout aisles

Just saw the 30031World Racers Powerboat promo set today at a NW Chicagoland (Arlington Heights) Target for $2.99. They are located in the checkout aisles along with the 30040 Atlantis Octopus sets, which have been there for a while.

(This Target also had a few of the 30042 Atlantis Mini Sub and 30032 World Race Buggy sets left in the Halloween aisle, but no minifigs out yet.)

Do you know the item number or DCPI number so I can ask someone if they have it in stock? Because I cant find them.. and I want an octopus!!

This is just speculative, but from what I can tell from visiting multiple Targets, it is like this.

Every Target is going to get the Mini Sub from Atlantis and the little race car from World Racers.

If your Target didn't get the Octopus and Piranha the first time around, they are probably not going to get them this time around. Nor are they going to stock the Powerboat from World Racers. The nearest Target to me did not stock any of these three and when I asked an employee they said that they had no plans, just like the last time, to stock them. What surprised me is that they actually knew what I was talking about. Apparently I was not the only one who had asked. The Target in the next town over, which is about 10x the size of the town I live in, said they were expecting a shipment, just like last time. Again, they knew what I was talking about.

It sounds like only the bigger Targets are getting the Octopus, Piranha and Powerboat at the checkout aisles. Every Target, since they all have Halloween aisles, should be receiving the Mini sub and the little racer.

The Target in question I talked to was a 'Super Target' or whatever the heck they call them these days that said they would have these sets. Who knows if that is the only criterion though. I only know that they're about a store and a half bigger than the one I visit regularly. I've been staking that one out for the Series 2 minifigs but they said they haven't even received their expected shipment yet.

These are not available in every checkout aisles. So you have to check everyone of them. Octopus was found on the very last one in Queens. None up in Rockland.

As far as the product numbers, the 30031World Racers Powerboat and 30040 Atlantis Octopus promo sets
both rang up as 204000252 on the Target receipt.

The 30042 Atlantis Mini Sub and 30032 World Race Buggy from the Halloween aisle both rang up as 204000387.

I still have the poly bags for all of them if any other number would be helpful.

Finally found them using the item number. Probably between 10-15 Target stores around me didnt have it. The only one that had it was 30 minutes away. The Super Target didnt have it. The Target that did have it, didnt have groceries and was small compared to other ones, but they were remodeling to have groceries later this year. So, using the item number I asked a Target employee and they could locate the Target store that had it and it even said that they had 293 in stock. When I went there, that store really had plenty of them at the checkout stands.

I actually found 3 promotional sets for $2.99

-7802 racers (not world racers)

The 3 of them had the same item number 204000252.

I didnt see the piranha.

Didn't see these at the Target on Rt. 33 in Harrisonburg, VA. Any concrete evidence as to which Targets get these? Is it only Super Targets/Target Greatlands?

All I've found in the target in Framingham were the 30042 Atlantis Mini Sub and 30032 World Race Buggy.

So I've called a billion and a half Targets (not really, but it's like 10 or so, so far) along my route home from vacation (I-81) and none directly along the Interstate have them. The closest one I've found is York, PA, which I'm considering hitting. It puts us about an hour out of our way, but it might be worth it considering the scant availability.

Finally found these at the Target Greatland in Hicksville, NY. They should still have about 200 of them. Interestingly, I got someone to check the back for me and he brought out a new box, but the box only had the World Racers jetski in it, so it seems while the DCPI number includes the WR, Atlantis and Racers Tiny Turbo sets (of which I only found one), each box of them contains only one kind.

They're at each checkout aisle, in the section where things are hung on the hooks, next and/or below the candy section. They're on the bottom right hook in each aisle.
