Was hoping to see this beauty somewhere at midnight but no such luck. Someone from the Aus/NZ site got his in New Zealand of all places. Anyone know when and where they are coming to USA? or Australia?

Interesting - is this a polybag or minifigure pack?

That's the c-3po variant from TFA, I believe a TRU special available with the blue ray bundle shortly after the movie is available.

This is what is posted om thebrickfan website
"It was revealed a few a while back but there will be a polybag associated with Star Wars: The Force Awakens which is a C-3PO (5002948) minifigure polybag. As you can see, this version of C-3PO is a little different from the usual versions we’ve seen since has a red arm for some reason which will be revealed in the movie this December.
There are two different offers for the polybag in the US as far as I know. One is a LEGOLAND Florida special offer where purchases of $35 or more from September 7 to September 28 will net you on of these polybags. The other offer hasn’t been officially announced yet but I heard that it will be availble at Toys R Us with a certain purchase amount."

I'm actually impressed with this one. I'm liking the detail LEGO is starting to put on the figures now.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

This was recently revealed on starwars.com: (take note of the last sentence that I bolded)
Coming this December, from the award-winning writer and artist team of James Robinson and Tony Harris, Marvel's Star Wars Special: C-3PO #1. Part of the "Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens" publishing program, this one-shot will fill in some of the protocol droid's post ROTJ adventures, including the story behind his red arm.

Is this going to be shinny gold or just molded in that tan color?

I just read the review. How disappointing that it's not chrome. The printing is great.

I can count on my fingers the amount of parts that I have in chrome - old lightsaber hilts, cylinder piece from the old train shed, TC-14, and my chrome stormtrooper minifig. So I'm guessing Lego doesn't like to chrome parts at all due to some reason (reliability, cost, etc.)

I hated those chrome lightsaber hilts. Playing with them removed the layer of "chrome" so quickly. I wouldn't mind having a chrome c3PO though.
