Third 2015 LEGO Ideas Project Review

For the third 2015 LEGO Ideas Project Review, nine LEGO Ideas projects have made it to this stage. Some of the projects like Concorde Display Set and Apollo 11 Saturn-V have just recently achieved 10 000 supporters. In the next few weeks, the second 2015 LEGO Ideas Project Review results should be coming soon as well.

I really love the Victorian street scene although its so big I don't think I could afford it IF they release it.

The adventure time proposal would be a great selling set I think. It would attract fans of different ages and would only require some now printed parts I think.

Several others look great too. I'm very curious to see what happens with this review.

Of the sets currently under review here are some thoughts:

I know the adventure time project reached the goal in, what must have been, record time. It seems like a lot of people like that one. I'm not in that group but if the licensing rights aren't to restrictive that seems like it has a pretty good shot at approval because it has a low enough piece count for it to be produced. It also has no minifigs which adds to Lego's profit margin if it were made. There was another adventure time set that previously hit 10k votes that ended up being denied though so there could be issues with producing this one as well.

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is a set I would buy. Though, at 1800 pieces it is 2-3 times larger than any Ideas set ever made. Honestly, the design of the arms isn't my favorite, but it would go well with the GB Firehouse...which I didn't think would ever get made either. If this set ever has a chance at approval now is the time with the recent GB releases and the new GB movie coming out in the near future.

The set I want the most, that I would probably buy multiple of, that I think is a fantastic design and might be my favorite Ideas set ever reviewed...is Lothlorien. But at 1300 pieces chances of it being produced are slim to none. The one glimmer of hope is that we know Lego still owns the license since they have recently produced Dimensions Lord of the Rings figures. I'm not holding my breath.

Lego is always looking for non-licensed Ideas sets which is what the Physics project has in its favor. It kind of reminds me of an advanced ball maze which is already approved. I'm not sure what the piece count is but it seems to large to be a set and I don't think it has the build possibilities that the maze has.

At first glance the super seven cars don't seem viable, but if the set only contained 1 car, maybe it is. It is interesting that it proposes some sort of "car kit" that would make certain parts of the car build interchangeable between other car sets that would allow the builder to customize their car using multiple different cars sets. Honestly I feel like it is to large of an Idea for an Ideas project.
