Ok, so I received my Emerald Night today and the box was mashed up on one end. I wonder if anyone else had that experience and if Amazon was unloading it's 'scratch and dent' merchandise?

Sometimes Amazon's packaging is not sturdy enough to protect Lego sets.
You can return it and ask Amazon to send another set.
Last time I did it, they sent me the new set OVERNIGHT, which I didn't ask for.
Really fast.

Same thing happened to me on my shipment, box was crushed pretty bad. Bummer, I'll have to contact them and see if I have better luck with the 2nd order.

UPS just dropped off the packaged, box arrived unscathed. Box condition didn't matter to me as this set is becoming MOCFodder.

Eh, 10% off on "used" sets for items you can still purchase brand new are not worth the risk/hassle IMO. I'd rather pay the extra $10 to ensure everything that SHOULD be there, IS there... nice and sealed.

I think these are mainly scratch and dent, like the one I'm returning to Amazon...still sealed and brand-new, but the box is 'mushed' on one side.

I've ordered 3 sets from Amazon Warehouse deals now. 2 of the 3 were still sealed in nearly pristine boxes with only slight creasing on the box. The third's box was only slightly crushed. None were missing a single thing from their box. One of the pristine boxes was a 7676 Republic Gunship I ordered earlier this week, months after it has gone out of print and shot up in price on the secondary market.

If the box really means something to you then avoid Amazon Warehouse deals because you won't be guaranteed to get a pristine box. If all you care about is complete sets then don't worry because you will get a complete set.

They had it up there last weekend. That's the other benefit of Warehouse deals, they do get retired sets in from time to time. For instance, earlier this week they also had the 7686 Helicopter Transport listed for $41.99.
