Minifigure Code Numbers?

I noticed on the buy-sell-trade board that people often list minifigures with a code number. Is there a place I can go to look up the code # to see the specific figure?

For example, SW10 is a Star Wars figure and where do I go to see what it looks like?

I'm just trying to determine how one figures out what minifigures are what etc.

Oh great thank you, I looked around on Brickset and for some reason didn't see the code #s since I was in the Gallery and didn't click on the photo.

If you go to the minifig browser on brickset you can find the code number.
Reversely, if you search the number and select minifigs it will bring up an exact figure.
