Does anyone know what this icon in the left column when you are parting out a set with BrickStore means? TIA

Without a little more to go on, I'd wager that's the quantity of that item?

That column indicates the type of item (standard/extra/alternate). The numbers (and the colors) indicate which pieces alternate. Not all sets have the exact same pieces, depending on time and location of release/production.

From the screen shot, it looks like the parts to Whitecap Bay. In this set, the 'money' has been found by bricklinkers to be either "chrome gold coins: type 3; one 10, one 5, one 2, one 1" or "pearl gold coins: type 2; four 10 mark". When parting out the set, you need to delete one of the alternate items before uploading to bricklink.

Thanks for the replies. SH1 you're right it's the chrome vs. pearl gold alternates. Close on the guess too, it's from Isla De Muerta.
