Most cost effective?
Most cost effective?
So I am wondering if anyone has done a study on this or could tell me the answer.
I am wanting a very large amount of orange 2x4 bricks and 2x2 bricks. These are both on my local store's pick a brick wall. The question is: is it more cost effective to buy a box (their bulk box, which i believe is still $70), or buy it using multiple large pick a brick containers?
I have heard that it is one container cheaper to do the bulk box price, but I do not know if that was taking into account spending time snapping all the legos together before counting or not. Also if someone has done this study multiple times with different sized bricks, and can tell me at what point they are even if ever, please do so.
Thanks

The bulk box is definitely the way to go for cheap bricks. I think this topic over on Eurobricks might help you out: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p ... 44286&st=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Whichever container you go with, snapping bricks together will definitely get you more bricks.d2hiriyuu wrote:I have heard that it is one container cheaper to do the bulk box price, but I do not know if that was taking into account spending time snapping all the legos together before counting or not.
The Best ways to fill a Pick a Brick Cup? thread on FBTB and Pick a Brick is actually a good deal! thread here on TnB have some more info and opinions, and the following might be real helpful if you do plan to go with cups and stacking...
Re: Most cost effective?
Thank you, both of you. Between both of your links, I have a better understanding how to maximize when needing one of same piece.
The best I got out of all the above is: brick count per a box (the eurobrick link)
PAB 1x2 and 2x4 how to maximize
It looks like for normal bricks, PAB is best, but once you get into odd shape pieces, if you don't want others at all, bulk is better. (IE wanting alot of horses, better to buy the bulk box).
