[CUUSOO] The Legend Of Zelda

An official 'LEGO Legend of Zelda' is a thought which has crossed many peoples minds in the 25 years since 'The Legend of Zelda' was first released by Nintendo. With the infinite possibilities of what can be achieved with LEGO and the immersion created by the fantasy world of The Legend of Zelda, many fans have endeavoured making their own LEGO Zelda customs and creations. With such dedicated fans of custom LEGO Zelda, it would surely only do both the series and it's fans justice if Nintendo and The LEGO Company were to release such a desirable LEGO theme.

Looks like this hit 10,000! I would buy zelda sets but I highly doubt this will pass the review stage, Nintendo has a current deal with knex and even though its mario instead of legend of zelda I doubt it will work out.

Licensing issues aside, the Legend of Zelda has tons of source material on which to create waves and waves of sets. Each game has it's own distinct look and feel, and as a result, different versions of each character can be made (similar to how we have film versions and Clone Wars versions of Star Wars characters). There's potential for army building as well, what with having different races such as the Gorons and Zoras. What's interesting to me is that Zelda is that MOC'ers could treat it as a sort of spin-off of the Castles/Kingdoms theme. Imagine the castles and dungeons that can be turned into sets, as well as Medieval Market Village-style towns. That would be a lot of fun!

This franchise would actually be a good one to build a LEGO franchise out of. But if LEGO were to license a Nintendo franchise, Mario would be the one to do since it's clearly more recognizable, especially to the general public. And that's probably one of the key issues when it comes to licensing. But as mentioned, KNEX currently holds that license, so there goes that idea.

And how could I forget the dungeon bosses! Imagine epic-sized bosses akin to the four-headed dragon in the upcoming Ninjago set.

I am now more excited about this than I was before I wrote these posts!

Agreed, but you have to remember that Megablocks had Iron Man and they switched over to LEGO the next year! It could happen!

Would buy. They would probably turn out better than the LOTR sets, which despite coming from a super colorful and fascinating series are one of the most bland LEGO sets LEGO has ever produced. "Hey, lets make everything grey!" Oy...

Playing with LEGO when I can. Where does the time go?

Just because Knex has the Mario license doesn't mean that they hold the Zelda license. My guess is that if Knex could make Zelda toys, they would already have done so. As a rabid Zelda fanboy for over 10 years, I can tell you that Zelda toys are few and far between. That Nintendo licenses Mario out for toys gives me hope that they'll let Lego make Zelda. If anything, I'm afraid that Nintendo will want more than just one Zelda set, and Lego won't go for it. I, on the other hand, would buy every single Zelda set they make, and put Star Wars, LotR, and all other Legos further down the list.

What makes me say this? Check out the CUUSOO page. Apparently it has reached the "product" stage.

EDIT: It seems like the other three projects "in review" have also been approved and are at the "product stage". So, good news all around for fans of the Western Modular Town, Legend of Zelda, and the Eve Rifter! Personally, the BttF Time Machine has me the most excited.
