New Ninjago spinners at Target stores

Post by Lforcey » Thu May 10, 2012 1:49 pm

Found NRG Cole, Spitta and Zane booster hanging on the pegs today at my local Target (Maryland). So, they are starting to show up in stores! Happy dance for my June birthday Ninjago lover.

I feel like the Ninjago Spinners are like Pokemon... Gotta catch em all... as fast as possible, or you'll never get your hands on em. Ever since they ditched the Skeletons, stores in my area can't keep Ninjago in stock...
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Just wondering, how reliable is Target's stock locator? Both of my local Targets are showing Kai Zx as in stock/limited availability. Though I don't know if I'm willing to find out if they actually have them or not...

It may not be very reliable for the spinners. That availability check is based on the product's DPCI number, and some similar items share the same DPCI, whether they are from the winter 2012 assortment or the new summer 2012 assortment. It's especially true if these come assorted in the same case, like the collectible minifigures - all 16 individual figures in a series share the same DPCI. A lot of Lego sets are shipped in their own case, and have their own unique DPCI, but I don't think that's the case with spinners.

Of course, I could be wrong on that. It's also possible they are actually in the store, but not on the pegs yet, and still in the back storeroom. Just speculating based on my experience, particularly with Transformers.
