LEGO Digital Designer not initializing?

LEGO Digital Designer not initializing?

I tried to launch LDD today, but after it starts initializing, the loading bar stops moving.
Is there a technical problem with my computer, or with servers?

There's some discussion over at Eurobricks about it as well. I just tried and the loading screen stopped at 'initializing' as well. What happens if you disconnect from your internet connection? I'm going to try that after I post this message.

EDIT: I was able to start LDD in offline mode when not connected.
