Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers
Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers
Does anyone have comments on the quality of the Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers?
I don't own any, but I've been thinking about getting the Devastator set.

Re: Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers
I was hoping to grab a bunch of these after the Valentine's Day clearance at Target, but they got snapped up in the last minute VD stampede.
I'm intrigued by these sets.

Re: Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers
I've got several G1 Transformer sets and all the micro-changers. I don't have a problem with the quality but mine are for display only so I'm not sure how they'd hold up against child's play. The printing I've seen is consistent. Part quality might be a little inconsistent as some of my fig heads fit very tightly while some slide on/off so easily it seems like it's lubricated.
The minifig vehicle builds are very mediocre in my opinion, but I didn't expect much based on the size.
The G1 robot builds I have are mostly pretty horrible, my main gripe being the skinny legs. The vehicle builds are usually much more satisfying, my Optimus Prime semi is one of my favorite vehicles out of all my building sets. It is very accurate in my opinion and the semi-trailer has PRINTED autobot symbols on the side panels and they are excellent. I was also very impressed that the Optimus fig came with a very accurate blaster just like the one he used in the old cartoon. The Optimus set also comes with two very nice motorcyles that fit inside Prime's trailer.
I really want that Devastator set as well, but $99 is too pricey for my blood. The only sales I ever see for Kre-o is BOGO 50%, and there are no other sets even close to that price that I would want to pair up with for a sale. The only stores I find the Transformer Kre-Os in my area are TRU and Kmart.

Re: Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers
I picked up two in last weeks BOGO50% Kre-O sale. These are just minifigures -- Kreons -- that you change the orientation of to represent the different modes. They're not really knocking my socks off.
Re: Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers
They transform better than their brick-built counterparts (in that their brick-built counterparts don't, in fact, transform).
Re: Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers
I bought Devastator last week. I like that the figures have more articulation than a Lego minifig but the clutch power of the torso to the legs is almost non-existent. They keep falling off. I like that their arms allows C-clips to attach but they're currently too slim so that the C-clips freely move. Kre-O figures have good ideas, but the implementation has a lot to be desired.

Thank you for the replies and reviews. I thought they looked like fun sets, but I was worried that the parts might be loose, which you've confirmed. Oh well.
