Legends of Chima , what do you guys think about them
Well , I've just started getting some of the Minis for my son and just received my first one.
Ewar's Acro Fighter.
My son and daughter both checked it out and remarked how cool the details were esp the wings and mask.
I think they are a cool alternative to Ninjago and heavily detailed.

I can't speak for the sets (yet) but the Speedorz are a hit in my house. Great concept, a lot of fun. I know some complained that they aren't "LEGO enough," but each Speedor pack gives you enough parts to create any number of games. Now I don't think we need two dozen of them, so we'll see how TLG distributes them. Lion Temple will be the foundation of Xmas 2013 in my house!

I don't like that the heads aren't one molded piece (instead of a mask on a head), but everything else is cool

Personally I am a bit sad to see Ninjago phased out for these as I feel that Chima wont have the broad appeal that Ninjago had, given that Ninjago was simple beauty of Lego, add ninjas.
But its always good to see new bricks and I hope the younger Lego fans enjoy them.

Personally, I think it's great that they're two pieces. That way you can mix and match for different combos, even use the masks on different heads!crazybirdman wrote:I don't like that the heads aren't one molded piece (instead of a mask on a head), but everything else is cool
From the reaction I've seen with my daughter's friends who were both into Ninjago, it's just as much of a hit.FenrisAkashi wrote:Personally I am a bit sad to see Ninjago phased out for these as I feel that Chima wont have the broad appeal that Ninjago had, given that its simply Lego, and ninjas.

There is a $119.99 Legends of Chima set coming out in June
Re: Legends of Chima , what do you guys think about them
I have to agree with you there. I asked my son yesterday which are cooler - spinners or speedorz - and he said, to my surprise, speedorz. Personally, I thought Ninjago had broader appeal, but it's hard to argue with the level of enthusiasm in the target market...vynsane wrote:From the reaction I've seen with my daughter's friends who were both into Ninjago, it's just as much of a hit.

As far as the Speedorz go, I can't help thinking of those cheap zip cars kids used to be able to find as promos in cereal boxes in the 70s. I guess that dates me...
Re: Legends of Chima , what do you guys think about them
Actually I thought of my Evil Kinevel ripcord Stunt Motorcycle when I saw the Speedorz lol.
Thats how old I am.

The Eagle and Raven figures are splendid. I was skeptical about how the wings are attached, but they really fit tight and don't fall off nearly as easily as I first feared. I'm really excited about Worriz Combat Lair coming out this summer: I forget the price point, but I think it's 6-700 pcs and boasts on the box that it forms 5 different models. Pretty sweet. The Skunk and Fox figures look pretty sharp too. I'm still hoping there will be a large set with more nature-y plant parts; Lion Temple looks nice, but I was hoping for something closer to IJ Temple Escape, but bigger, more castle-ish.

I completely remember Evil Knievel's Stunt Cycle! The commercials always got heavy airplay Saturday mornings.Mrbill317 wrote:Actually I thought of my Evil Kinevel ripcord Stunt Motorcycle when I saw the Speedorz lol.

I wasn't sold on the idea until I saw kids playing endlessly with them at the LEGO Store on a recent trip. They got them going FAST!melsig wrote:As far as the Speedorz go, I can't help thinking of those cheap zip cars kids used to be able to find as promos in cereal boxes in the 70s. Doesn't appeal to me at all, but then I'm not the target market hehe.
Ninjago appealed at the start, but when the snake people appeared, then the crazy mech stuff I lost interest, Ninjas vs Skeletons was cool.

Yeah, they don't do anything for me, but my kids say they look cool. I do like the new head pieces and wing parts, and I gotta admit cragger's command ship looks kind of interesting.
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?
Re: Legends of Chima , what do you guys think about them
I'm in the exact same boat. The Boat is the only ship that interests me, although I haven't looked at the to-be-released sets yet. I was also very skeptical of Ninjago before I bought some sets and built them though... maybe Chima will prove me wrong again... or maybe on the 2nd wavehatcher wrote:Yeah, they don't do anything for me, but my kids say they look cool. I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

I'm interested in the line. I've bought a few small sets and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
