Lego train question
Lego train question
I have 4837 Mini Trains and was wondering if it would fit on a Lego train track.
Re: Lego train question
No. It is too small.
Re: Lego train question
ok thanks for the info greatly appreciated
Re: Lego train question
You could make your own custom tracks or use the narrow tracks from the batman or indiana jones or alien conquest mothership sets.

The top pic is sweet might have to give that a try eventually
Re: Lego train question
The mini trains are 4 studs wide and would not fit the standard Remote Control Lego train track which is 6 stud wide. There is narrow Lego railroad track that is 4 studs wide but it only comes in flat curved track (45 degree/track) and a roller coaster descent like straight track (not conducive for high speed trains- and no trying to bend it flat is a bad idea -a better idea is to scan it with a 3d scanner and used auto cad to bend it flat and then use the results to use a 3d printer to make custom flat tracks for yourself but then that's a bit expensive ) - sooo with the current limited track types for the narrow gauge - the narrow lego railroad track is unuseable for anything other than a simple circular track.yeti79 wrote:I have 4837 Mini Trains and was wondering if it would fit on a Lego train track.
More interesting is the very old Lego rail roald track system which require one to build a rail road track out of two rails and studded plates because it allow you to make your own track gauge within the studded dimensions. There is also a old 12v track system that had a narrower metal electrified narrow track but the 12v train motors are 6 studs wide.
The bigger challenge would be to motorize a mini lego train. The motor over rails design seems problematic at best : micromotors probably wouldn't be powerful enough and the smallest PF M-motor and battery pack are 4 studs wide are too big. Mechnical motors such as the pull back motors and windup motors can only run a few seconds at best.
